(Yicai Global) Oct. 16 -- The city of Shanghai has successfully won the bidding to stage the 46th WorldSkills International Competition, to be held in 2021, state-owned news agency Xinhua reported on Oct. 13.

The WorldSkills General Assembly presided over the host for the event, known as the Olympic Games for skills, at a meeting in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

The event is the highest level competition focused on the field of professional skills. The performance of each country in the contest can, to a certain extent, reflect its current level of skills development.
