High-Tech Firms Make Up Half of Exhibitors at First Phase of Canton Fair's Fall Edition High-Tech Firms Make Up Half of Exhibitors at First Phase of Canton Fair's Fall Edition

(Yicai) Oct. 16 -- About 6,000 of the 12,000 exhibitors at the first phase of this year's fall leg of the bi-annual China Import and Export Fair, better known as the Canton Fair, are cutting-edge high-tech companies.

The 140th Canton Fair opened yesterday, with the first phase focusing on global sourcing hotspots, including energy, smart manufacturing, and embodied intelligence. The event features service robots, drones, display technologies, and 14 other emerging future industry zones, aiming to show overseas buyers the coordinated development of China's advanced manufacturing supply chain and the commercialization of technological innovation.

The FP800 agricultural drone from TopXGun Robotics drew the attention of many visitors and buyers at the drone industry zone.

The FP800 has a maximum payload of 85 kilograms and is equipped with an 80-liter spraying tank and a 120-liter spreading tank, Zheng Donghua, overseas sales engineer of TopXGun, told Yicai. The drone can perform four core tasks: crop protection spraying, fertilizer spreading, seed sowing, and material lifting, making it very popular among farmers in South America's agricultural regions, Zheng added.

The all-domain intelligent perception system of the FP800 enables precise obstacle avoidance and uniform spraying, helping farmers significantly improve pesticide and fertilizer utilization rates while reducing resource waste, Zheng pointed out.

A representative from Chengzhi Intelligent Machinery Technology introduced the company's new products to Yicai, including the NV10 photoelectric night vision binocular. The product delivers a clear and accurate picture even in darkness, haze, or backlit conditions. It also supports real-time image transmission and remote collaborative operation and can be used in various scenarios, including criminal investigation, border patrol, critical-area surveillance, and emergency rescue, the representative pointed out.

PadBot Robotics attracted many overseas buyers at its exhibition area, with some foreign influencers stopping to take photos with its robots.

One of PadBot's best-selling robots on display can autonomously plan optimal routes and avoid various obstacles in real time, Deputy General Manager Shu Xuqiong said to Yicai, adding that it can also charge itself, allowing it to operate for long periods without human intervention.

The robot can also identify various environmental anomalies in real time, automatically capturing on-site images and sending incident alerts through the management backend, phone calls, and text messages, Shu noted.

The first phase of the Fall Canton Fair runs from Oct. 15 to 19, with the second phase held from Oct. 23 to 27 under the theme "Quality Home Living" and the third, themed "Better Life," from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4. About 86,000 overseas buyers from 208 countries and regions attended the fair yesterday, while their total number for the entire event is expected to top 340,000.
