(Yicai Global) March 15 -- Wuhan DDMC Culture Co.'s wholly-owned Hong Kong subsidiary has secured Paris Saint-Germain Football Club's exclusive marketing rights in mainland China and Hong Kong in a move that will cement its lead in Chinese sports marketing.
The unit, Desports, has inked a brokerage cooperation contract with the franchise and its sales representative PSG Merchandising Sas, the former's parent announced yesterday. The most popular team in France, Paris Saint-Germain has won more trophies than any other French club and has a huge glob, public data show.
The contract, which took effect Jan. 1, will continue to June 30, 2021, per the announcement. Desports is authorized to collect and manage all funds sponsors or franchised dealers pay, per the agreement. As the cooperation involves trade secrets, the company is bound by a non-disclosure agreement, so further details were not forthcoming.
The arrangement will help the company gain more upstream merchant agent resources and positively impact its future results. Wuhan DDMC Culture has expanded its sports brokerage and marketing business in recent years. It is the exclusive Asian sales agent for the 2018 Federation International de Football Association World Cup and is approved to refer potential Asian sponsors to FIFA up until May 31.
