(Yicai Global) Aug. 22 -- Chinese doctors are experimenting with artificially intelligent diagnostic tools. Central China's Anhui provincial hospital has worked with Iflytek Co. [SHE:002230], an AI industry leader, to build an "AI-assisted diagnosis and treatment center" and provide services for county-level hospitals via a remote diagnosis and treatment system.
The auxiliary AI diagnosis and treatment center has recently been integrated with the province's telemedicine consultation platform and can provide chest CT and other smart diagnostic services to 41 county-level hospitals in Anhui.
Medical institutions in 105 counties in Anhui province will have access to the AI-aided services in the future, Iflytek said.
The Anhui provincial hospital and Iflytek researched and developed an AI-aided medical image diagnosis system in June last year. The system has studied data from 680,000 pulmonary CT images and has helped doctors at the hospital diagnose about 11,000 cases with 94 percent accuracy, state-run Xinhua news agency reported yesterday.
