The global supply-demand gap for optical fibers will reach 180 million kilometers this year, as AI data centers, cross-data center interconnection, and high-capacity backbone network construction drive up demand, according to the latest report by TrendForce. The supply shortage will drive the spot price of optical fibers up by 2.8 to five times a year, per the report.
