Chery is recalling 8,878 OMODA 5 vehicles in Malaysia following a recent rear axle incident, marking a second such recall after a similar one in 2024, the Chinese carmaker said on Oct. 11. As a precaution, the firm has also launched a targeted risk assessment of the same batch of OMODA 5 vehicles in China and other relevant markets and is maintaining active communication with regulatory authorities.
