(Yicai) April 25 -- Yicai Media Group’s panel show Brainstorm will feature a series on China's regional economy to share insights from entrepreneurs, experts, and scholars. The first stop is the southern island province of Hainan.

The premiere was co-produced by Shanghai-based Yicai and Hainan Broadcasting Station’s TV and News Center. A total of three Hainan episodes will be published on TV channels and online by next month along with original short videos. The first episode was aired on April 13.

Regional development is an important driver of economic growth so Yicai initiated the series to offer brand new perspectives for audiences in China and even worldwide to know more about the Chinese economy while discovering new trends and prospects via the interactive process of problem-solving called brainstorming.

The three episodes that zoom in on Hainan invite business insiders in the fields of aerospace, deep sea, and seed production, as well as experts and scholars from Hainan University and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, to discuss and learn about Hainan's efforts to improve its business environment, attract talents and promote industry development while relying on regional advantages and favorable policies of the free trade port.

The episodes will include many field visits to reveal a different view of Hainan from the common understanding of "China's Hawaii," aiming to attract more entrepreneurs and investors to pay attention to the construction of the Hainan Pilot Free Trade Port.

Brainstorm is a staple of Yicai's TV offering as the show has aired for two decades. The latest feature series is the show's new approach to collaborations between different regional media platforms and the next focus areas will be northeastern and western parts of the country, as well as the Yangtze River Delta.
