(Yicai Global) Dec. 29 -- Beijing-based mobile giant Xiaomi’s shares [HKG:1810] were trading 5.14 percent up at HKD3.75 (48 US cents) in the late morning after earlier surging over 6.4 percent on the launch of its new flagship mobile phone the Mi 11 yesterday. The handset is the first to feature Qualcomm's latest signature mobile processor the 5 nanometer Snapdragon 888 fifth-generation wireless communications network-enabled chip.
Priced from CNY3,999 (USD609) to CNY4,699 depending on memory, the Mi 11 may land on shelves around New Year's Day. Following the iPhone 12’s waste-reducing example, the Mi 11's package will also no longer include a charger.
