(Yicai Global) Sept. 19 -- Chinese firm Vtron, traditionally a provider of visual wall solutions, plans to open at least 30 wholly-owned Sesame Street English language centers in the country over three years, marking a step forward in the diversification of its business.
Vtron inked a cooperation agreement with Sesame English rights-holder Kairui Alliance Education Technology, of which it holds a 30 percent share, the Beijing-based firm said in a statement.
Kairui Alliance will provide a full range of services regarding the opening and operation of the locations including IP content and brand authorization, assistance in setting up management teams, and necessary day-to-day operational support.
Sesame Street English is a multimedia English as a Foreign Language learning program developed by Sesame Workshop for children aged three to 12. Sesame Workshop also creates the well-known US children's show Sesame Street.
Beijing Kairui Alliance Education Technology is mainly engaged in children's English training under the Sesame Street English brand and is the exclusive licensee of Sesame Street English in China's mainland (Fujian province excluded), Hong Kong and Macao.
