(Yicai) April 23 -- Risen Energy, a leading player in the photovoltaic industry, made the list of Chinese Enterprises With Excellent Performance in Carbon Neutrality in 2023, which was released yesterday.

Risen Energy has stuck to a business philosophy of green and sustainable development, as well as pursuing innovations in the new energy industry and supply chain, according to the selection committee.

The list aims to raise social awareness by recognizing businesses with outstanding performance in green practice and green finance as well as the research, development, and use of energy saving and carbon reduction technologies. It was co-initiated by Yicai Media Group, the Research Institute of Carbon Neutrality of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange.

Risen Energy also plays an important role in promoting the transformation of the energy mix, and has shown its social responsibility and industry leadership in the development of carbon neutrality and environmental, social, and governance management, the committee said.

To build its green supply chain, Risen Energy has followed a philosophy of green design, green procurement, and green manufacturing in all areas of its operations. The Ningbo-based company has won many honors for this at the national and provincial levels.

While advancing green procurement, Risen Energy has devoted itself to cutting the carbon footprint for itself and its supply chain, and has worked with partners to promote the development of a sustainable supply chain.

US-based index provider MSCI gave the firm an environmental, social, and governance ranking of BBB, one of the highest in China’s PV industry.

In terms of innovation, Risen Energy has spent over CNY800 million (USD110.4 million) annually on R&D in the past three years. It had 583 patented technologies as of 2022, and its high-efficiency heterojunction battery and low-silver metallized materials technologies have made its products much more cost-effective and competitive.
