(Yicai Global) Dec. 24 -- Liquor makers listed on China's mainland stock markets further retreated in the morning session and dragged the major equity indexes lower by the noon break.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.21 percent lower at 3,375.21. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 13,968.41, down 0.33 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, fell 0.39 percent to 2,831.95.

Several distillers hit the 10 percent limit down. Those included Jinhui Liquor[SHA:603919], Hengshui Laobaigan Liquor [SHA:600559], and Yilite Industry [SHA:600197].
