[In Photos] Shanghai Tourism Festival to Hold Grand Parade With Floats(Yicai) Sept. 9 -- The four-month Shanghai Tourism Festival will organize a large parade featuring 21 performance groups with as many floats, including a Boeing 787-shaped float by Etihad Airways.
The grand parade will take place on Sept. 12 at the Bund Bull Square, according to the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism. The 21 floats will then parade in 10 different areas across Shanghai between Sept. 13 and Oct. 6, when they will attend the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Tourism Event.
The Shanghai Tourism Festival will cover more than 20 cultural and museum venues, parks, and landmarks in the city, two special exhibitions -- ‘On Top of the World Tree: Ancient Civilizations of the Americas’ and ‘A House of Nobility: Aesthetics and Cultivation of Life in the Mawangdui Han Tombs’ -- Disneyland, and Shanghai World Financial Center Sightseeing Hall.
Moreover, the Shanghai Tourism Festival will set up sub-venues outside the provincial-level regions, including Wuxi in Jiangsu province, Sanming in Fujian province, Huaihua in Hunan province, and Kashgar in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, offering ticket discounts and consumption subsidies.

The 21 floats are “sleeping” under a bridge, waiting for the grand parade.

A statue of a TARS humanoid robot serves as a tour guide on the Chinese startup’s float, showcasing how artificial intelligence is now part of everyday travel life.

Shanghai Zoo, Shanghai Wild Animal Park, and Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park jointly built the "Cute Marine Life" float.
