(Yicai) May 26 -- Water World, a new water park located next to the world’s largest indoor ski resort, will open to the public in the Lingang Special Area of Shanghai’s free trade zone on May 31.
Water World has a 17,000-square-meter indoor section (Viking Harbor) and a 12,000-square-meter outdoor rooftop area (Ice and Fire Canyon), making it the only water park of its kind in the Chinese mainland. It features 20 water slides, two AquaPlay structures, 54 AquaSplash toys, and a 13-meter-wide wave pool.
L*Snow, the world’s biggest indoor ski park, opened last September. It comprises Water World and two areas dedicated to skiing and snow play.

AquaTube is a 142-meter-long see-through slide that lets people watch people as they start outside, then slide indoors, and finish in a landing area.
During Water World's trial run, visitors enjoyed the six-person raft ride that starts in a mock volcano crater, sends riders through a dark tunnel, and ends with a thrilling outdoor drop.
Riders are guided out of a pool after finishing a slide that begins on the rooftop and ends indoors.
