(Yicai Global) June 16 -- Chinese stock markets opened higher today following US markets' climbs with the ChiNext Price Index rising the most.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.79 percent higher at 2,912.83. The Shenzhen Component Index started 1.15 percent up at 11,312.81. The ChiNext, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began 1.23 percent higher at 2,246.89.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.62 percent up last night, while the Nasdaq Composite Index soared 1.43 percent. The S&P 500 rose 0.83 percent.
