(Yicai) Jan. 21 -- Shenglong Automotive Powertrain System said it will supply specialized motors for a new project by Fuyao Glass Industry Group, which is expected to generate total sales of CNY800 million (USD110 million) over its five-year lifecycle.

Shenglong will be the exclusive supplier of shaft-driven motor assemblies and controllers for a sunroof project of Fuyao Glass, a leading auto glass maker, with mass production set to start this year, the Ningbo-based auto parts supplier announced late yesterday. It did not reveal the name of the downstream customer.

The motors supplied for the project have achieved the development goals of compact size, high power, low noise, low cost, and low heat generation, Shenglong said.

In addition to being used for adjusting the position of vehicle sunroofs, the motors can also be used for other vehicle components, including control screens, charging port covers and electric armrests, it added.  

Shenglong’s shares [SHA: 603178] closed up 0.4 percent at CNY17.97 (USD2.47) each in Shanghai today, having climbed more than 2 percent in morning trading.
