China's Stock Markets Lose Ground in Morning Session China's Stock Markets Lose Ground in Morning Session

(Yicai Global) Nov. 2 --  China's stock markets lost ground during the morning session, as market players chose to cash in profits gained in the past several months, rather than waiting for indexes to overcome overhead hurdles.

The chemical production, high-speed rail sectors as well as those related to infrastructure, components and production of electric vehicles were among the leading losers in morning sessions.

The medical apparatus and medical service, security brokerage, and coal mine operating sectors recorded gains despite the market's overall slump.

The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.58 percent to 3,376.11 points at the close, with turnover of CNY121.1 billion (USD18.29 billion), down from yesterday morning's CNY135.6 billion.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell to 11,304.93 points, down 0.40 percent, with CNY153.5 billion exchanged, compared with yesterday morning session's CNY145.3 billion.

The Growth Enterprise Index, mostly comprising small-cap companies, was down 0.60 percent at 1,861.54 points, with CNY44.1 billion changing hands, higher than the previous morning's CNY42.53 billion.
