Liu Xing, public relations head of ByteDance’s Doubao, yesterday refuted an online rumor that Hengdian had partnered with the Chinese TikTok owner to feed the likenesses and voices of 150,000 extras into its AI model, noting that Hengdian Film & TV AI Service Platform aims to turn physical filming locations into high-quality datasets to improve production efficiency, with all data assets remaining the property of Hengdian or authorized rights holders.
