China's research and development spending rose 8.2% to CNY3.93 trillion (USD584.5 billion) last year from 2024, with the R&D share of the country’s GDP rising to 2.8%, according to data released by the NBS today. Enterprise R&D spending exceeded CNY3 trillion for the first time and accounted for over 77% of the total.
