China's lottery ticket sales rose 13% to CNY478 billion (USD71 billion) in the first eight months of 2026 from a year earlier, the finance ministry said today. Welfare lottery sales slumped 7.6% to CNY131 billion, while sports lottery sales soared 24% to CNY346 billion.
