New Platform Offers Access to China’s Zuchongzhi Quantum Computing System New Platform Offers Access to China’s Zuchongzhi Quantum Computing System

(Yicai Global) June 2 -- Chinese quantum communications firm QuantumCTek has unveiled a cloud computing platform that offers users direct access to the country’s Zuchongzhi quantum computing system.

The new platform can process 176 qubits of quantum information, according to the Hefei-base company.

The platform aims to connect quantum computing devices with users via cloud technologies and enable them to perform quantum computing experiments and development remotely, Zhu Xiaobo, a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China and chief engineer of the Zuchongzhi quantum computing system, told Yicai Global.

China launched the Zuchongzhi quantum computing system in 2021. It is one of the world’s only two superconducting quantum computing systems that have completed the milestone ‘quantum advance’ experiment. The other one is Google’s Sycamore.

QuantumCTek is contacting users and partners in the basic research field to give them access to the platform to conduct research, said Peng Chengzhi, executive vice director of the Zuchongzhi project and chairman of QuantumCTek.

Quantum computers have ultra-fast parallel computing capabilities and are expected to offer exponentially higher capabilities than traditional machines in the future. They can potentially be used in weather forecasting, material design, password decoding, big data optimization, drug analysis, and other fields.
