(Yicai) March 28 -- The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024 held a sub-forum themed ‘Accelerating Climate Action’ yesterday, where multiple guests spoke and expressed their opinions on how to deal with climate change.

Accomplishing the goal of carbon neutrality is not only the duty of governments and companies but also a responsibility of every individual, Liu Zhenmin, China’s special envoy for climate change, said at the sub-forum. “The human race can achieve carbon neutrality only if everyone participates.”

The BFA is a high-level dialogue platform for government officials, corporate executives, experts, and scholars to discuss issues regarding global aspects, such as the economy, society, and environment. It is held in Boao in China’s southernmost Hainan province.

This year’s four-day forum was themed ‘Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Shared Responsibilities’ and will end tomorrow.

Nine guests attend the panel discussion of the sub-forum ‘Accelerating Climate Action.’

Liu delivers a keynote speech.

Hans-Paul Bürkner, global chair emeritus at Boston Consulting Group, gives a talk during the panel discussion.

Xavier Castellanos, under-secretary-general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, takes the floor.
