(Yicai Global) May 18 -- Several bank outlets in Shanghai have resumed offline operations as the city's Covid-19 pandemic is brought under control.

Two branches of China Construction Bank in districts outside downtown areas have reopened today, the Shanghai arm of the lender said in a statement on its WeChat account. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China announced it has done the same at three outlets today.

The Covid-19 pandemic is showing signs of ending. All of Shanghai’s 16 districts have successfully halted community transmission of the coronavirus, the municipal government announced at a press conference yesterday.

The first bank outlet that opened its doors again during the latest wave of the pandemic was Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank in Jinshan district on May 12. Others followed suit shortly as two facilities of Agricultural Bank of China, as well as one of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, reopened in Chongming district on May 16.

Bank employees have clear instructions when getting ready to leave their homes. SPD Bank employees, including security guards and cleaning workers, need to provide a negative Covid-19 test done within the past 24 hours and go directly to work without any stops on the way. Visitors are also asked to strictly follow the city's anti-epidemic policies, Yicai Global learned from the Shanghai-based financial institution.
