The total economic output of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area exceeded CNY14 trillion (USD1.97 trillion) last year, accounting for one-ninth of China's total despite being less than 0.6% of the national territory, Xinhua reported, citing local authorities. The Greater Bay Area is home to over 75,000 state-level high-tech firms.
